PI Ezmieralda Melissa Virtual Presentation at AMIC 2012 (video available)

Principal Investigator Ezmieralda Melissa presented her current SIRCA research project at the Asian Conference on Media & Mass Communication 2012 organised by the International Academic Forum (IAFOR) virtually. Her presentation entitled “Social Media Empowerment: How Social Media Helps to Boost Women Entrepreneurship in Indonesian Urban Areas” was based on her project which looks into the opportunity for Indonesian women who are often constrained by their domestic duty and the greater gender roles imposed by the society. Her research observes how women negotiates their roles as wives and mothers and identity as entrepreneurs who can contribute to the economic development of their communities and the greater society.
