Call for Proposals – Phase II

Strengthening Information Society Research Capacity Alliance (SIRCA) III

2015 – 2017

APPLICATION CLOSED

Deadline for Proposals March 20, 2016

SIRCA III, a theory and capacity building research programme examining open development and is administered by the Singapore Internet Research Centre, and supported by the IDRC Information and Networks program.

SIRCA III has already funded six projects led by teams of two senior researchers and/or practitioners to develop cross-cutting open development theoretical frameworks. This call seeks research proposals to empirically test these theoretical frameworks in developing countries in Asia and Africa.

The purpose of the SIRCA III programme is to deepen our understanding as to whether, how, for whom, and in what circumstances the free, networked, public sharing of digital (information and communication) resources contribute towards (or not) a process of positive social transformation.

Up to six grants for empirical projects will be awarded for research that responds to one of SIRCA III’s open development theoretical frameworks.

For full details of the award, eligibility, and requirements for proposals, please download the Call for Proposals.

Interested applicants are asked to send their completed proposal forms by email to sirca@ntu.edu.sg by March 20, 2016.
