Abstract

Programmes delivery in most distance education universities in developing countries is print-dependent. The approach is associated with many challenges such as (i) delays in the delivery of study materials, course outlines and learning resources, (ii) lack of regular interaction between instructors and students, (iii) lack of immediate feedback on student learning and (iv) feelings of isolation among students. This project will seek to support instructors at the Open University of Tanzania to (ii) redevelop their print-based courses into Moodle and (ii) use Moodle to deliver courses and address challenges of print delivery. His research outline is available here.
