Alexander G. Flor (Dr.)

Dr. Alexander Flor is Dean and Professor of Faculty of Information and Communication Studies, U.P. Open University. As the founding Dean of the UPOU Faculty of Information and Communication Studies (FICS), Dr. Flor oversaw the successful merging of computer science, information science and communication science under one Faculty. Dr. Flor has linked the UPOU FICS to the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, the InfoBridge Foundation (Netherlands), the EU InterSARD initiative, CGIAR, the China Agricultural Broadcast and Television School and other development agencies. As the UPOU’s sole Professor of Information and Communication Studies, he undertakes research and instruction on ICT4D and KM4D in collaboration with international organizations. He has mentored close to 100 FICS researchers & graduate students. Dr. Flor is featured in Wikipedia for his work on ICT4D.
