Dr. Sey is a Research Associate at the Technology & Social Change Group (TASCHA) at the University of Washington Information School. Her research primarily focuses on the socio-economic implications of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in developing countries. Other areas of interest include globalization and the evolution of media systems in developing countries, and the historical function of broadcast technologies in social and economic development. She has looked into mobile payphone systems development in Africa, and the impact of mobile phone appropriation on the telecommunications industry in Ghana. Right now, she is working on a TASCHA project investigating the impacts of public access to ICTs.
