Dr. Stephen Kimani is an academic and research member of staff at the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya. He has previously been a researcher at CSIRO (Australia), and a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (Italy). He has the following academic qualifications: BSc in Mathematics and Computer Science, First class honours (1996, JKUAT); MSc in Advanced Computing (1998, University of Bristol, UK); PhD in Computer Engineering (2004, University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Italy). He has been involved in proposing and running ICT projects in Kenya, Italy and Australia.

| Abstract | In Kenya it is extremely difficult to attract and retain female students in science and technology courses. There is a need to support female science and technology students in higher learning institutions. StoreRooms intends to realize an online portal providing relevant science and technology resources to Kenyan female university students.
