ICT’s and the Natural Knowledge Economy: diverging or converging paths?

Andrea Ordóñez is research director at Grupo FARO where she leads the debate, articulation and revision of the institutional research agenda. Additionally, she supports the different teams to carry on rigorous and relevant research with methodological support in a variety of topics. She is currently researching the natural knowledge economy in Ecuador after coediting a book (in print) on the Ecuadorian Knowledge Sector: Ecuador Será Conocimiento. In this book she authored a special chapter on the possibilities to generate knowledge clusters in Ecuador. Her concern for this topic is based on her previous work directing research on the oil sector and the resource curse. Additionally, she promoted the use of ICT’s with researchers at Grupo FARO, participating in the committee that is developing the new webpage and leading the process of opening research data to promote links with other researchers. Andrea holds a Masters in Economic Development from the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) in Ecuador.
